Whats for dinner tonight then?
Mood:  hungry
Now Playing: Joss Stone

As a diabetic I have little option in my choice of food! No that's a lie I have every option, I just choose my meals a tad more carefully. That said I do endulge in the odd pie or roast dinner - with little or no guilt. Tonights meal is a wonderul delicacy - something that is healthy (ish) although I guess the salt may be considered high. Oh yes I was passing on my meal plan, well its none other than the humble chicken and vegetable rice. Now while I'm excited about this healthy option meal (no seriously I am), it'll be one of those that you need something else in a little while. Chicken is fairly nice with a mild curry sauce, or with a plate of roast potatoes, or even with crispy skin and chips, but alas its served with rice tonight.

Windy - and I don't mean me!
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Gabrielle

Wow has it been windy today, and with a cold nip in the air one coul dbe mistaken for thinking about ringing in sick! The only saving grace for the day was the blue skies and sunshine of the morning (well OK a few hours of it). Now here at 5pm I am sat waiting for the missus to come in, and worrying about the poor dog in Coronation Street who has the unthankful task of staying with Maria's boyfriend - who has just fallen off a very high (well it is drama after all) cliff. Luckily the dog remains unharmed and was last night seen whimpering - unlike Liam who remained almost motionless except for a mumur (who says acting is hard work).

I also wonder about the youth of today (No I'm not that old - just older). I am out and about feeling the cold in my padded jacket and jumper AND long sleeved shirt, and to add to my fetching outfit worn out gloves. Still I know I have problems because the youth are simply wearing tee shirts and jumpers Undecided? But hold on do I recall my own parents saying that...Oh no surely not

Bunged up!
Mood:  not sure
Now Playing: Music

Being bunged up isn't fun - particularly over the festive season. You know you'll have a real problem getting any professional help to remove the 'bung', but you know its got to be done and so trying to avoid the high Christmas costs you wait. But not before trying to resolve the problem yourself.

Firstly we took the plunger (did I mention it was the ktichen sink bunged up), and pushed hard to try and suck all that gunge up. No luck there. Next option remove the u bends (I like to look as if I know what I'm doing at least), no luck there, they were as clean as a babies bottom after a change. So my last option was to get some of those chemical unblockers you can buy. Trouble is by the time you read the back and realise that the fumes can prove fatal, the liquid can severely scar and burn, you wonder whether its worth using them. But being the brave person I am I put on my (smaller than required) disposable gloves and tipped the bottle down the drain - and waited.

When the waiting was over I confidently filled the sink with hot water to flush it and... Shot! It remained blocked! No option then call the professionals and today that professonal came in the form of 'Drain Doctor'. Drain doctor according to their site is recommended by none other than Cheryl Baker - yes THE Cheryl Baker.

So this guy tunrs up and promptly takes our plunger (didn't even use his own tools!) and successfully unblocks the sink! Nopw if this isn't a sign that life is out to get me, I don't know what is! I explained to him what I had done and after explaining to me I should have inserted the plug into the second sink before plunging my anger turned to embarassment.

Don't get angry get the...

...Drain Doctor

Stressful
Mood:  blue
Topic: Down NOT Out

In the days of late I have to admit I have been feeling a tad unwell! Unlike the widely laughed at "If men get colds they have flu", I struggled through. Furthermore I didn't moan whilst trying to bash the cold out of me with paracetomol.

But I have had a lot of stress recently (a big ah please), what with my pregnant daughter being near er due time (and having a period of ill health), my other daughter going out with someone who is less than compatable with her, my mother having her own new health problems on top of her parkinsons disease and other things. I guess it's just all mounted up to bring on this cold. (Did I mention I had a bad toothache too?)

My life seems to be full of paying bills one after another they arrive requiring paying. Will it ever end?
